Recirculation rate FAQs

Who can view recirculation rates in the Parse.ly Dashboard?

Everyone with access to your Parse.ly network or site, regardless of permission level, can use the recirculation rate metric.

Where can I find recirculation rate in the Parse.ly Dashboard?

Recirculation rate is seen on the Posts tab of the Parse.ly Dashboard and individual post details pages.

Posts tab

From Posts, use the drop-down “Sort by” menu to sort by recirculation rate:

How is recirculation rate different from ‘activity after viewing this post’?

The “Activity after viewing this post” section on a post’s details page shows where visitors went after visiting that specific post or page on your site. Recirculation rate measures the percentage of a post’s total page views that went to another page on your site. The former provides more details, while the latter gives you the bigger picture.

How does Parse.ly’s recirculation rate compare to Google Analytics?

There is no recirculation rate metric in Google Analytics. Instead, there’s bounce rate. Bounce rate is nearly the opposite of recirculation rate: It’s the percentage of visitors who left your site after just 1 page view.

Parse.ly does not use the bounce rate metric, as it often tells more about technical issues than the quality of your content.

Why does the ‘Export’ button disappear when sorting by recirculation rate?

Recirculation rate data is not available for export from the Dashboard at this time.

Note

If you’d like to see export functionality for recirculation rate data in a future release, please contact your Relationship Manager or Parse.ly Support at support@parsely.com.
