Referrer details

From the Referrers tab, more information on referrer categories, as well as individual referrers, can be accessed.

Referrer category details

Clicking a details link below a referrer category tile on Referrers navigates to a listings page featuring popular content within that category.

This listings page can be adjusted much like Parse.ly Dashboard tabs:

• Pulse vs. Historical views of data.
• Filtering capabilities.

Domains

While viewing details of a referrer category, Domains is among the available tabs with more information.

Here, the domains within this referrer category that delivered traffic are listed. A “Links” metric is associated with each, referring to the number of unique URLs from that domain that led to page views.

Clicking the down arrow next to a domain expands a panel listing some of the URLs that delivered traffic. Many websites strip referrer information from URLs, making it impossible to determine exactly where some traffic originated — this behavior varies from site to site.

Clicking “Show domain details” from this panel opens the referrer details page for that domain, described further in the next section.

Referrer details

Clicking an individual referrer on Referrers or “Show domain details” from the referrer category details page loads data specific to that referrer. This can be filtered and adjusted just like the referrer category details page.

The Referring URLs tab lists URLs on the domain that sent traffic to your site.
