Channels tab
Parse.ly partners with Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) and Apple News to provide analytics about distributed channels in the Channels tab of the Parse.ly Dashboard. Integrations are also available for native mobiles with iOS and Android Software Development Kits (SDKs).
Note
Website channel metrics are available in Channels by default. Additional distributed channel integrations are available at an additional cost — reach out to your Relationship Manager to learn more.

Available channels
Distributed channels are platforms where a piece of content is published in its entirely, allowing it to reach a wider audience.
Parse.ly supports five channels — those enabled are listed in Channels:
- Website (available by default): This channel includes only traffic to your site (or sites, when viewing Network Rollup or site groups).
- Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP): Developed by Google, AMP pages load nearly instantly, enabling a consistently fast experience across devices and platforms that link to AMP pages, including Google, Microsoft Bing, Yahoo, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more.
- Apple News: A news aggregator app for the iPhone and iPad, Apple News does not provide data on external referrers, so the Referrers tab isn’t displayed on its channel details page. However, it does provide data for the Discovery Sources tab, which shows what parts of the app are driving traffic to your content.
- Native iOS: Parse.ly provides tracking for native iOS apps via mobile SDKs.
- Native Android: Parse.ly provides tracking for native Android apps via mobile SDKs.
Clicking any from the list of enabled channels brings you to that channel’s details page.
Channel metrics
Not all available channels provide access to the same metrics:
Real-time and historical | Page views | Total engaged minutes | Average engaged minutes | Visitors | Device views | Social referrals | Social interactions | Referrals/interaction | Search referrals |
AMP | x | x | x | x | x | x | x | x | x |
Apple News | x | x | x |
Channels vs. referrers
A referrer describes how a visitor navigated from one page to another inside of a given channel. Some of Parse.ly’s supported channels have meaningful referral information; others do not:
Website | Multiple referrers |
AMP | Multiple referrers |
Apple News | No referrers. Discovery Sources show where traffic comes from within the app (e.g., Spotlight, Topic Feeds). |
Channel data around the Dashboard
Channel data is included in aggregations seen around the Dashboard. Some partner integrations don’t support the same metrics that Parse.ly supports for the Website, Native iOS, and Native Android channels.
