#  Video metrics

If [Video Tracking](https://docs.parse.ly/tools-features/video-tracking/) has been
purchased, a number of video-specific metrics are available in the [Parse.ly Dashboard](https://docs.parse.ly/dashboard/).

**Video starts: **The number of times a video was started. A new video start is 
logged if a [visitor](https://docs.parse.ly/measuring-reporting-performance/calculations/visitors/)
watches a video to the end and restarts it. Pausing, resuming, or scrubbing a video
does not trigger additional video starts.

**Visitors: **The number of visitors that started playing a video.

**Total minutes watched: **The total minutes of video watch time across all visitors.

**Average watch time: **The average minutes of video watch time per visitor.
