# Troubleshooting Parse.ly Content Intelligence

The situations below describe common issues when using [Parse.ly Content Intelligence](https://docs.parse.ly/tools-features/content-intelligence/)(
PCI), along with recommended next steps and solutions.

**Note**

In all cases, please contact your Relationship Manager for more information on how
to best leverage PCI and Parse.ly, and contact Parse.ly Support at [support@parsely.com](https://docs.parse.ly/troubleshooting-issues/support@parsely.com?output_format=md)
for further assistance.

## The Performance Stats panel is missing

In order to view the [Performance Stats panel](https://docs.parse.ly/tools-features/content-intelligence/)
in the block editor’s sidebar while editing content, you must have access to the
[Parse.ly API](https://docs.parse.ly/api/). Access depends on whether you’re a WordPress
VIP CMS customer or Parse.ly-only customer:

 * **WordPress VIP CMS customers:** [Activate Parse.ly as an integration](https://docs.wpvip.com/parse-ly/enabling-and-disabling/).
 * **Parse.ly-only customers:** If you have purchased the API, find your API secret
   under the [API Settings](https://docs.parse.ly/account-management/api-settings/)
   page of the Parse.ly Dashboard’s [account menu](https://docs.parse.ly/account-management/).
Enter the API secret into the [wp-parsely plugin’s settings](https://docs.parse.ly/wordpress-plugin-setup/)
   in the WordPress Admin dashboard.

## The Performance Stats panel does not display any performance data

Verify that the post is published and has received at least 1 page view.

## Data in the Performance Stats panel doesn’t align with Parse.ly Dashboard data

PCI leverages the Parse.ly API to get its data, and Parse.ly caches API results
for 10 minutes. This means that the data for a popular post will diverge over those
10 minutes between PCI’s Performance Stats panel and the [Parse.ly Dashboard](https://docs.parse.ly/dashboard/).
PCI automatically refreshes every 10 minutes to provide the latest data.

While PCI provides directional insight in the WP Admin dashboard, deeper analytics
insights and data are found in the Parse.ly Dashboard.

## PCI does not seem to work correctly

Ad blockers or browser tracking protection can sometimes interfere with PCI’s HTTP
requests to the Parse.ly API. Please add your site to any applicable allow lists
before trying again.

## PCI cannot be disabled using filters

If looking to [disable PCI](https://docs.parse.ly/tools-features/content-intelligence/#disable)
or some of its features, verify that the filters used return `false` or `'__return_false'`.
